Finally got our first heavy snowfall. We have 5 inches of the heavy wet stuff on our snow board, basically lake effect snow that started just after noon and lasted late into the night. Two tenths of an inch of moisture made diving tricky in our area, made it deadly near Lansing, where three people were killed in a 40 car/ truck pile up on I-96. Around 16:00 hrs on Aug 3,the rain started gently falling in our area. Just two miles south of our station, an inch and a quarter fell along with lightening and thunder. We received the light rainfall all evening into the early morning hours, what a blessing! Temps were in the 50's this am, and not supposed to get over the 68 mark later today.
