11/25/2016 7:00 AM T M M M M This was one of the strangest storms I've witnessed. Billed as a winter storm, with 5-10 inches of snow. We saw bands of rain and snow come through as close as two miles from us. We also saw fresh snow on the hills to our east, and later witnessed snow on hills above 3000 feet. We had winds of 25-30 mph, but got only little spritzes of rain here. Temperature rose from 35 F at 7am to 42 at 8 am. Dew point remained at 30-31 F all day, so relative humidity was at 60% or so.

Temp 37.8 F, dew point 36.3 I realized that like the Irish with many words to describe the color green, we in Washington have many words to describe our rain: spritzes, drizzle, "it's Seattling" (to describe the mist that saturates the air, but leaves only 0.02 inches of precip for a day), snain (mixed snow/rain), and "potato chip snow" (to describe the very wet snow flakes that we get as one transitions from rain to snow, or vice versa)

I went for an early morning ski; there were at least six inches new snow there.
