We have clouds this morning. The temperature actually increased during the night and is now 57°

10/17/2016 7:00 AM T M M M M All the sun on October 16 got the temperature into the high 70s. It was partly cloudy with the moon shining through the clouds at 6:15 this morning. By 6:45 it had completely clouded up with just a few sprinkles of rain. It seems rare to have a heavy dew with rain but it happened and I wouldn't have known it rained except I was out and felt a few drops.

10/19/2016 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M I'd hate to turn on the AC on the 18th of October but with the temperature at 85°, it was very tempting. It stayed mild all night with the temperature at 64° under a cloudy sky this morning.
10/20/2016 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The clouds lasted until late morning on Oct. 19 but then the sun returned to push the temperature to 85°. It is mostly clear this morning and 56°.
10/21/2016 7:00 AM 0.01 M M M M October 20 was another summer like day with the temperature getting to 82°. It clouded up in the late evening and we actually had a sprinkle of rain around 10:45pm. It is cloudy this morning but the cold front hasn't yet arrived since it is 61°.
10/22/2016 7:00 AM 0.16 M M M M Wind and rain came shortly after observation on October 21 with most of the precipitation happening around 8:45am. It stayed cloudy and cool all day with a high of 63°. It is cloudy and breezy this morning at 46°. //NOTE// After the really strong winds and rain passed on Oct. 21, heavy, grayish clouds were moving North to South along the mountain peaks while the higher, black clouds were moving West to East. That was weird.
10/23/2016 7:00 AM 0.02 M M M M If you liked wind, cool temperatures with some rain mixed in, October 22 was the day for you. The temperature only got to 50°. It is 48° this morning with clouds and still windy.
10/24/2016 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M The temperature got into the high 60s on October 23. It cooled down in the evening and about 8:30pm the wind got stronger and the temperature began to rise to almost equal the day's high by 11:00pm. It is 60 this morning with very strong wind gusts.

At this location observation this morning, it is cloudy with just a breeze and 34°. Some snow mixed in with rain last night but no accumulation.

Sometime during the night it appears to have snowed some. By the time I was up to observe, it had changed to sleet and now is a mixture of sleet and freezing rain. From the amount of precipitation, it must had been sleet for quite a while. The snow accumulation was a guess. It continues to sleet and mix with freezing at observation with a temperature of 27°
12/18/2016 7:00 AM 0.41 M M M M Rain continued for most of the morning on 12/17 with very little melting of the ice since the temperature never left the low 30s. The effects of cold air being pushed up against the mountains was very evident. At 4:00pm the temperature in Elkins, WV was 63°, Mt. Storm, WV was 53° at 5:15pm and this location was 33° when we arrived at 5:45pm. There is a sprinkle of rain falling at observation today with a temperature of 34°.

At 9:00am the temperature began to go up and eventually got to a high of 52° before almost immediately starting a downward plunge. We even had a few snow flurries before dusk. It is cloudy this morning and 25°.

The temperature for the daylight hours never got above freezing and in the afternoon, it began to rain so we had freezing rain and this apparently continued some into the night. The temperature at observation is 37° and there is no ice on trees but ground surfaces that were frozen (roads & sidewalks) are pure ice. All the snow is gone.

The temperature stayed right on the 40° mark for most of the day. As the showers ended, the fog moved in and got to be "pea soup" variety in the late evening. During the night, a breeze picked up and cleared out the fog and brought in warmer temperatures. It is cloudy at observation with a breeze and a temperature of 50°.

Just to the west of here, the snow whiteouts were so bad they had to close the interstate highway. That's the effect of mountains. It is mostly clear this morning with just a little breeze and a temperature of 17°.

The remainder was during the front that came through about 9:00pm which included a couple claps of thunder. Though the front was associated with wind, it didn't get to the predicted speed. The strongest gusts were in the high 20s (MPH). The high temperature for Feb. 12 was 62°. It is mostly cloudy this morning and still very breezy with a temperature of 33°.

During the afternoon, while driving from Ridgeley, WV to this location, we drove through two storms that almost required pulling off the road because of visibility. Both storms were about a mile in width. There is high fog this morning with a temperature of 70°.

Just after 6pm rain from a thunderstorm started followed shortly by hail in the 1/4" variety. The size continued to grow until it eventually got to 3/4" in size. This lasted for 20 minutes. The precipitation reported should be greater because the hail just hit and bounced off anything that was a hard surface. It is clear this morning and 64°.
