6/27/2018	7:00 AM	1.89	0.0	M	0.0	M	Intense storm rolled in about 7pm and lasted till after 12:00 midnight. There was lots of thunder and lightning and strong winds, with heavy downpours. The ground at Langruth has been so dry that this was like the million dollar rain. It surprised me that there was no standing water in the ditches with so much rain but it was absorbed by the dry ground and wicked away quickly.

The crops are in terrible shape and the gardens have plants that seem to be much smaller and stunted. Hoping for a good drop of rain in the next week, all the weather have been going around to the lake and missing the Langruth area. Usually the grass doesn't turn yellow and turn th straw until August but this is going on right now.

The fields have large amounts of standing water and the farmers are now unable to remove the last of their crops due to moisture. We have had snow that has not entirely melted and the temperatures are 10degrees below normal. Highs are only getting to about 5degrees Celcius. This is probable my last reading for the winter season as we do not have a winterized home.
