Our sunny day disappeared into the clouds in late afternoon and snow started around 8pm. First part was very small snow grains and ice pellets changing later into tiny flakes. Estimates today. The snow continued into the early afternoon and the wind became quite gusty for awhile as the polar vortex moved in. So...there was 2.5cm of fresh on my sheltered shovelled path to the snow stick which showed 59.0cm - 1 cm less than yesterday. Big globs of snow blew a long way from the big white pine and into the gauge so I'm estimating from the 2.5cm accumulation 1.0mm of water content basing it on the water content percentage from the day before since the snow was continuous. My crab apple didn't even bloom because of the late spring snows. The list goes on. No food in the bush so the bears will hunt for it in town. |
