First report using existing "personal" wedge raingauge while waiting delivery of "official" gauge.
Weak thunder rumblings between 5:47 and 6:05 AM.
From radar, Tstorm crossing West-Island at ~6:AM.
Motion NW to SE.
Presently light-moderate rain at 8 AM. More rain is expected in the coming hour(s) according to the McGill radar.

Light precipitation is persisting at observation time.
Cold, 8 C, and moderately windy. The wedge gauge registered 0.57", the accuracy being limited by the 0.02" intervals available near that amount and in considering a more significant meniscus effect. The McGill 24-h accumulation at 0800 agrees very well with both measurements, showing a total of the order of 15 mm (0.60") at my location and also revealing that the steady continuous light precipitation will end in about an hour or two, and will become scattered afterwards. |
