Still no evidence of hail, although hail reported in vicinities surrounding the Greeley-evans area.
6/20/2018 8:00 AM 0.33 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 No flooding at this location and no hail but just 2.5mi from this station at Homestead park which we report on often in condition reports there was quarter sized hail but the storm must not have lasted too long. There was some shredding of trees leaves but singular plants like thistle and wild lettuce that were out in the open were intact and undamaged. This is contrasted by a friend’s home in Greeley about 3.5 miles N of this station where trees leaves were shredded to half the volume of the trees canopy, all plants were stripped of leaves and crushed by the weight and volume of the hail. At that location hail started at pea size went quartersized and went to pingball sized in minutes. I had been at that location not more than 30 minute but had driven about 3.5 miles to ESE out of the line of fire. Could see storm coming in and could see a shaft of opaqueness about ~1/2 mile wide extending all the way to the ground. Glad i had moved to a safer location.

7/30/2018 8:24 AM 0.52 0.0 0.00 0.0 0.00 The storm was short lived but produced a great deal of damage in a short period of time. Code Red Weather Warning received at 7:04PM Could see large cell on radar. Tried to get ready—plants tucked under eaves etc. Some made it some didn’t—most plants just pummeled to stubs, Storm began immediately with large hail—1.5-1.75” (ping pong ball to golf ball size hail) and stayed that way for the duration. A lot of damage to vegetation, roofs, we had two solar tubes (round skylights) broken with hail coming into one of them into the house. We have a screened tent on our deck—w/tarp covering the existing cloth roof. Totally decimated—tarp and roof both. Street flooding as storm drain became overwhelmed. Luckily our vehicle was housed in the garage. Noted that drivers on the street had to pull over because visibility was so poor. Separate Hail Report will be filed for this station location.
