The storms then began around 7:40 pm with very heavy rain falling nearly continuously until around 10 pm, after which it became lighter and more intermittent overnight, ending before sunrise. An estimated 4.5-5" of the total fell in about two hours, from just before 8 pm to around 10 pm, with just that 2-hour total shattering the previous 24-hour station record. 5.33" of the total fell through midnight, on the 30th, with the remaining 0.25" falling after midnight on the 1st.
