No snow was visible at 4:00 am, but by 4:30 am I saw a coating on the ground. The snow flakes are small and are wind blown, so I can't gauge the intensity. Because of the drifting, I tried to find a level snowfall area. where all the measurements matched. There was zero snow on the snowboard. Nearer to the street, there was 8.5" of snow. I picked 6.3" at 5:30 last evening to be more representative. I checked this morning and the snow had settled to 6". I picked an area where I knew there was a small amount of existing snow from the last snowfall.. It measured 6.0". When I melted it, the water equivalent was less. This is a hard storm to measure. 2 very light rain showers occurred last evening one at 6:30 pm and the next at 8:00 pm. Each lasted 15 minutes and each did not get the side walk or street wet. The more persistent rain started much later and is mixed with snow this morning. The snow board and grass has an accumulation of snow, but nothing has accumulated on the street and side walks. |

The morning started as a rain and snow mix. By 9:30 am it was just rain. At 11:30 am it had reverted to just snow. It stayed just snow until about 3:30pm it became a mix again. By 5:00 pm it was just rain. It had stopped by 7:00 pm. Between 1:00pm and 2:00 pm we a couple of thunderstorms with heavy snow. The accumulated rain and snow that accumulated in the gauge was the first reading. The new snow accumulation was from the snowboard. The total is from the lawn. At 1:30 pm I felt some precipitation hit my face, but when I looked around, I saw nothing. At 2:35 pm tiny pellets of ice started falling from the sky. That sleet continued into the evening. This morning when I first went out to check the gauge, there were a few pellets falling. By the time I was working with the snow board, the pellets were coming down heavier and in greater numbers. At 5:30 pm the sky clouded up in the west, but most of the clouds moved north. As we sat on the porch eating dinner in 70 degree weather, the wind picked up, and it was suddenly a cold wind. The temperature dropped by 10 degrees. By 6:45 pm the first shower started here with a moderate intensity, but not with a driving wind. The shower lasted 8 minutes. 1:30 pm very light rain started that did not get the ground wet. At 3:50 pm a sustainable light rain started that by 4:30 pm became a moderate rain. The rain alternated between light to moderate until 10:30 pm when it stopped for an hour. By 11:30 pm it resumed in the light to moderate intensity into the night. There is a light mist this morning. |

5:05 pm a downpour occured that lasted 10 minutes. After a 5 minute pause a moderate rain fell for about a minute followed by a light rain for another minute and then a pause. This pattern continued even though the sun came out in the west. The pattern ended by 6:00 pm. At that point I had .21" in the gauge. The temperature dropped to 78 degrees and stayed there thru to 11:00 pm when I went to bed. I heard periods of rain overnight. This morning the temperature is 76 degrees with 96% humidity with heavy drizzle. |

Fog and mist in the morning.The fog lifted,but the sky stayed overcast in the west. Storms came by in the west and proceeded to the north. Out of the whole day we had 3 short showers that were primarily light rain One shower at 2:30 pm had light light to moderate rain and dropped .10" if rain. |

11:13am we had drizzle that lasted less than a minut. At 1:30pm we had big drops of rain followed by a light rain that altogether lasted for 7 minutes. It got the street wet, but did not penetrate the leaf cover. .03" in the gauge. At 3:05 pm a moderate to heavy rain fell for 25 minutes. The intensity then lessened to a light rain for 15 minutes. .30" in the gauge. At 5:42 pm heavy rain fell for 18 minutes. At 6:00 pm the rain lessened to a light rain for 40 minutes and then a drizzle for 10 minutes before it stopped. Thunder accompanied the last two showers. |

Light drizzle started a little before 9:00 pm. At 9:10 pm a heavy mist moved in followed by a light rain which only lasted about 5 minutes followed by a mist and a drizzle by 9:35. An hour or morning rain started around 8:00 am and was so light, it never got the ground wet. At 1:45 pm a similar light mist starter that became a light rain at 2:15 pm. It reverted to a light mist after 20 minutes. By 3:00 pm only .03" was in the gauge. At 6:00pm another period of mist and occasional light rain started and continued until after dark. It doubled the anount of rain in the gauge. |

Noon - Heavy wind driven rain for 13 minutes,then light rain for 3 minutes,and then heavy rain for 22 minutes. I lessened to gradually end at 1:05 pm. All this was accompanied by lightning and thunder.
