3/21/2018 7:00 AM 0.66 M M M M Thunder storms developed y/day afternoon and at 2:43 PM loud bangs on the roof and then a roar as hail stones started coming down. 1/2 inch with smaller and larger ones mixed in.. it let up a bit and then they got bigger and really roared. The sight of them hitting in the pond was spectacular and something we've never ever in our lives seen. Awesome memories these are. I finally let up and the rain set in but no more hail.Even after the rain I picked up several over 2" in die. and were mushroom shaped. A few were round and most were very dense white ice with some clearer. The hail was over by 2:51 PM but the rain lasted a couple of hours longer and all finally moved away to the NE and the sun came out and gave us a very red sunset. . Wow! what a show.

Our green location dot looked like food in it's gut and then it just sorta wallowed around and in one hour we had this total in the gage and the ameba was sucked dry and crawled on off. I've never seen anything like that. No damage here altho there were lightening pops not far away.. and a tree top is blocking half the road between us and the corner. So there must have ben some wind gusts. All this happened between 5:45 and 6:45 PM last evening. Quite the show it was. And we needed the rain so badly.

3/20/2018 2:43 PM Hail is rare here in the low country of SC. And usually small and brief. But this started with several seconds spaced loud bangs on our tin roof.. we didn't know what it was and then the impacts got closer together but not so loud but still impressive. And then we looked out and it was really coming down.. about two-three minutes and it let up almost completely. But then it came back harder and with bigger hailstones. Very hard white ice. It lasted longer. It began at 2:43 PM and lasted about 8 minutes total. Over at 2:51 PM. I haven't been out to see it if damaged our solar panels.
