Dumped pea size hail and rain for 6 minutes with winds from the Northeast at 8 mph gusts. In ten minutes, I had .3 inch of rain in the gauge and some of the hail not melted yet. This morning at 7 am, I emptied the gauge - 1.47 inch. That is 1.17 inch beyond the .3 inch gathered after hail storm.

I melted the hail that was in the funnel at the top of the gauge and got .10 of melted hail.     It was 36 degrees at the time. At 8 pm, the gauge had .17 inches of rain in it.      There was some snow in the night and a light dusting this morning but it melted quite quickly.    It also rained in the night.    At 8 am, there was .4 inch of rain/melted snow in the gauge.    Currently it is not raining or snowing or hailing and is quite overcast.   34 degrees, 96% humidity, 1 mph wind from the Southwest with 4 mph gusts, 30.00 barometer.

At 10 am there was four inches of snow on the ground and still snowing. At 11 am, it had stopped snowing and there was still four inches on the ground and .32 inch of melted snow. About 4:30 pm, it started hailing and it lasted about 15 minutes. There was about .25 inches of hail in places and .06 inch melted hail. The hail on the ground melted quite quickly. This morning at 8 am, we had 1.5 inches of snow on the ground and .12 inch melted snow. It appeared that it snowed in the night but I believe the "new" snow was from wind blown snow from the trees, bushes, roof, etc. Currently, the sun is shining and it is 36 degrees.

1/20/2019 3:03 PM Just before 3 pm. It began raining heavily with lightning and thunder. I emptied the rain gauge - .54 inch since 7 am. Figured I should put my hail pad out. It was too windy to lie flat so I wedged it in a cage around a small tree just as it started hailing - maybe 3:04 pm. Dumped pea size hail and rain for 6 minutes with winds from the Northeast at 8 mph gusts. In ten minutes, I had .3 inch of more rain in the gauge and some of the hail not melted yet.
