Rain throughout the evening starting around 4 pm. Heavy at times. At time of reading low cloud deck and very cool at 39 degrees F with a very light almost sporadic drizzle of precipitation.
Observation: After a few days of rain, expected the ground to be saturated. Dug a small hole and noted the ground below about 0.5 inches deep was still incredibly hard and draw. Very surprising.

First snow of the 2018-2019 winter season. Dramatic temperature drop from 68 degrees F to 25 degrees F. Snowing at time of reading. Some liquid precipitation may have fallen at onset of storm but it very quickly turned to snow. Initial part of storm was very windy. Concrete and blacktop surfaces are starting to become snow covered. |

Mostly snow mixed with some initial liquid rain. Liquid turned solid quickly with temperatures bounding above and below the freezing point. Snow started about 5 pm and continued sporadically to the time of reading.
Hard to separate the liquid value from solid snow, but it was certainly a very small amount.

Rain and snow mix. Yes, snow. Ground supersaturated. Trees with full summer foliage are stressed and in many cases bending. A few broken branches are present. Temperatures dropped to 30 degrees F. Appears apple tree blossoms are all lost. Garden plants seem to have survived. Low cloud deck at time of reading. Cannot see mountains that are normally visible. Snow is accumulated on grass and dirt surfaces. Roadways and walkways had accumulated enough heat to melt snow on contact. Misty rain at time of reading. |

One thunder clasp was extremely loud and close; less than saying "1001" before heard over our house and subsequently shaking everything as if we were experiencing an earthquake.
