Saw a hint of sun around the edges of cloud cover and then it disapeared. Temp gauge reading 30 degrees so will see later if covered plants survived. Am beginning to feel like i live back east with gray skies every day. Moderate temps in the 60’s and 70’s have made these fall days a delight. Even though no precip since 10/14/18 soil seems to be holding moisture And not drying out. Nice weather allowed a window to get outdoor projects done before another blast of inclement weather expected tuesday or wed of this week. Fall is probably THE best season in Colorado. |

Measurements taken from snowboard are on top of 1/4” of glare ice. Sun is shining now and should begin melting things and bringing low temps hopefully asap so driving and walking aren’t so treacherous. As it is now not shoveling here because at least the little bit of snow provides a bit of traction vs none at all. |

Heavily Iced areas and snow from past storm (11/17/18) remain in shaded areas. Am hoping the temps will be warm enough in the next few days to melt completely to lessen fall risk. So much ice fell from large cottonwood tree that driveway needed to be shoveled several times yesterday. Total precip from both snow and ice = total precip from 11/11/18 with heavy wet snow (0.14”). |

Using gauge reading as snowboard reading and water equivalent inaccurate due to a 9” snowdrift in front of the snowboard collection site. All measurements taken off of solid surfaces are covered with 0.5” if solid ice. Ground measurements easier because of melting under the snow. All measurements subject to ? Since we saw sustained winds of 25-40 mph with gusts ~50-60 mph throughout a 12-16 hr period. Drifts ranged from 9-19” location dependent. Sun is out this morning—let the thawing begin. |

Trace amount of snow left in some areas of lawn from the 3/14/19 blizzard. Snow drifts, shoveled piles will remain for awhile even with warmer weather because of depth and density of snow. The snow set up like cement and had to be chopped into cubes for easier removal,although cubes are very heavy. Am grateful for the “free water” the plants and trees really needed it. |

Springtime in the Rockies—and on the Plains. From 6.5” down to 0.5” in one day. Of course all of the wind helped a great deal. Wind started at ~1000 on 4/11/19 and lasted most of the day and into the evening hours. Snow on the street was almost completely melted by 0930 on 4/11/19. Nice day until storm came up at 4:20 pm on 5/26/19. Quick start w/rain followed immediately by peasized hail ending briefly at 4:25 pm with heavy rain followed by penny size hail at 4:27pm. Hail stopped by 4:37 w/heavy rain to follow. Raining so hard gutters were overflowing, water in gutters were even with sidewalk. Lots of leaf litter and small twigs from cottonwood tree. Hail report will be submitted with hail pad for more specific info. Severe t-storm alerts, followed by tornado watches and warnings and lightning strike alerts coming in fast and furious from weather apps. No Code red alert from county,however. Rest of evening no further rain but could see lightning in all directions from this station as ongoing cells came and went. |

Got a weather notification for light shower coming at ~6:39 pm. At 6:46 pm it was pouring rain, by 7pm ~ 0.25” of rain in gauge, 7:03 huge crack of thunder and power went out. Lightning bolts across sky are incredible; 3 dogs are all nervous, usually only one gets nervous with thunderstorms; by 7:28 pm ~0.5” of rain had fallen. 8:30 pm power had been restored—right on the time power company said power would be restored. By ~10:30 reported to friend that we had almost an inch of rain in rain gauge. More storms scheduled for this afternoon. Better get a lawnchair so i can sit comfortable in the bathroom with the dogs. ?? |

T-storm started at 2330 just rain, thunder and lightning but by 2430 it began to hail. Hail ended at 2440. Luckily never got above peasized. Hail was white. Will file hail report today. |

T-storm rolled in at about 1730; alerts calling for possible 60 mph winds and nickel sized hail. Started hailing large white peasized hail at 1803 ending at 1804 followed by smal rain shower. Very little hail fell at this location but ~ 2 mi N of this location got quarter sized hail. Report and hail pad will be submitted. |

Rain started here at 1715 and pouring rain stopped at 1740; 0.10” recorded at that time;rain continued intermittently throughout the night to reach the final teading reported.
