As a result, my existing total snow number is what I see today after 24 hours of strong winds moving everything around.

Most of the 36+" we have had the last 2 weeks has been light powder. (Update. But with temps right at freezing and the wind, the actual number is probably higher, just not readily measurable. All precip in the last 24 hrs has fallen as snow.
