Found .25 frozen precipitation - snow, sleet and frozen rain- on elevated decking at 7am, am assuming this depth would have been uniform across the property since the wind was light, but snow melted rapidly and did not accumulate on roads or sidewalks, very little even in grassy areas due to warm ground temperatures. |

This was just a crazy amount of rain for the second day in a row with so much convective activity in all directions around me. A brief but intense squall at my daughters’s 9 miles east of here dumped an inch of rain in about 15 minutes along with blasts of wind that flattened the corn field around the house and tore 2”-4” limbs out of the trees. The big inflatable pool swan very nearly took flight, saved only by impalement on the pool fencing. R.I.P. big fella. Brought an abrupt, memorable end to the July 4 pool party. |

Severe storms stayed mostly north of here. About 10:30 pm the system finally sagged far enough south for some wind and rain and cooler temperatures to reach me. The lightning show to the north was magnificent and continued for hours. At least one tornado was reported associated with a cell 10 to 20 miles north. I could see he wall cloud and storm structure from here, visible against the nonstop lightning flashes. I am leaving yesterday’s report as it is after speaking with neighbors who didn’t get any rain during the morning. I read the gauge at 11:00AM instead of 7 on Monday, but reading should be the same either time. |

Exact measure. Rain started about 4AM, still light rain at 7AM. Occasional lightning and thunder, and string but sporadic wind gusts. No anemometer anymore so can’t give good speed, guess would be about 20mph. |

All the rain stayed just to the north of me. I didn't get even a sprinkle that I saw, the gauge is dry and there is not a drop pooled on the truck bed cover. It looked like it would be starting to rain any moment this morning when I checked the gauge, but it still is hanging to my north and not even a sprinkle here as of 7:22 a.m. |

Woke up to a power outage. Didn’t seem like a big enough blow last night to take the electric out, though, just some lightning and thunder. But I’m 35 miles away from my rural electric co-op facility; a lot can happen between here and there. |
