Light rain began falling at 9:42 am, transitioning to sleet about 9:53 am, and finally to snow at 10:05 am CST. At 12 pm CST, 0.9 inches of new snow had accumulated on the snowboard and by 3 pm, there was 3.4 inches of storm-total snowfall. At 6 pm with only a few flurries still falling, the measured snow depth on the snowboard was 3.7 inches. Sustained wind speeds of 7 to 20 mph were present throughout the event with wind gusts up to 33 mph, according to a nearby electronic weather station. Due to the strong winds and warm ground temperatures at the start of this blizzard, snow core measurements from both the snowboard and the ground were taken. The liquid equivalent from the snowboard core is 0.50 inches, which is probably the best measure of the fallen liquid equivalent precipitation. The ground core measurement was taken from a location with a snow depth of 3.2" and had 0.37 inches of liquid equivalent water content. |

Yesterday, the remnants of the winter system wrapped itself up between 9 and 10 am CST. Gusty winds created some drifting and blowing snow. The new snow accumulation in this report was taken at 11 am CST and may have been contaminated by drifting snow. The liquid equivalent measurement of snow inside the Cocorahs gauge was taken at 3:45 pm. Despite the drifting snow, the snow depth across the yard was remarkably consistent with snow depth ranging from 0.9" to 1.7". |

Multiple rounds of thunderstorms that contained strong, gusty winds, heavy rain, small hail, and constant lightning rolled over us last night. The first round started about 12:15 am and ended about 1:45 am CDT, giving approximately 1.5 inches of rain (according to nearby electronic tipping bucket rain gauge) and occasional dime-sized hail. Round two started about 2:05 am and ended about 2:25 am, producing about 0.2 inches of rain and the strongest wind of the night at 22 mph gusting to 43 mph. Round three started about 2:55 am and ended about 4:45 am, giving about 1.2 inches of rain. Round four started about 5:50 am and ended about 6:40 am, giving about 0.2 inches of rain. |

Nocturnal convection strikes once again. Light rain began at 7:53 pm CDT and lasted a few minutes before stopping. Rain began again about 8:05 pm ramping up to heavy rain by 8:20 pm. The heaviest rain was between 8:20 and 8:30 pm and contained hailstones ranging from pea- to quarter-sized. The continuous rain ended at 8:40 pm and became intermittent afterwards. Rain was done for the night at about 2:30 am this morning. |
