Took 3 measurements with snow cores: 4:30PM: 0.49" liquid / 4.5" snowfall (accurate) 11:55PM: 0.20" liquid / 3.5" snowfall (accurate) 8:00AM: 0.22 liquid / 3.4" snowfall (drift error?) The observation area has been overtaken by drifts. I am unable to estimate the actual final snowfall amount because my alternate snow board is buried as are the flags marking its location, and there is no solid point of reference. My feeling is that at least an inch (or 0.06" liquid) of the final snowfall that fell from 11:55PM - 8:00AM is blown snow.

2/15/2019 8:00 AM 0.18 M M M M Strong NW winds (15-30mph) resulted in blowing snow overnight. Fortunately, I made two observations: 11:15PM and 8:00AM using 2 snow boards (West and East). The first read 1.6" of snowfall (same across both boards as wind was minimal before midnight). I cleared west board after this (not east). The second reading was 2.4 -- an average of 4.5" (W board) and 0.25" (E board actually ranged from bare to 0.5"). In other words, east board had been blown almost clean of all snow over entire obs period. Took a snow core at 11:15PM (0.12") but since both boards measured completely differently at 8AM, I skipped the snow core and left the field blank. Drifts up to 18" near observation area. UPDATE @ 9:35AM: Upon further reflection, I don't trust the snowfall measurement, so I am removing it and leaving only gauge measurement. I would estimate, using an algebraic equation, that an additional 1" of snowfall and 0.08" of melted core precip was observed between 11:15PM and 8:00AM. Supporting math follows. Assuming the ratio is about the same between both obs (11:15PM and 8:00AM) you form two ratios. The first was 1.6 (snowfall) / 0.12 (core). If you subtract the core reading of the 1st observation from the total gauge reading you get 0.06 (0.18 - 0.12) which needs to be marked up 30% (rough correction factor) for the height differential (4ft vs ground level) and aperture differential in steady winds. So the 2nd ratio becomes X / (0.06 * 1.3). So solving for X = 1.04" of new snowfall. Add that to 1st obs of 1.6" and you get 2.6" of total snowfall and a snow core value of .20".

Therefore, I am not recording a snowfall measurement. I would estimate, however, based on various nearby visual cues, that 3-4" fell during a lake effect event that didn't ease up until mid afternoon.
