Wow! Rain and more rain!! Total cloud cover. Slight breeze ~5. Between 1500 and 1900 yesterday we had 1.00 in. From 1900 til 0755, we had another 0.93". Nice steady gentle rain for the most part. No Thunder or lightning.No snow. Very low clouds at times. Almost fog - covered most of Sandias to the east at one point, and we could not see the four hills. Wow! We really did get some snow! Rain gauge is not reliable - had leaves in the top of it with snow on top that we let melt down into the gauge. Strong east canyon winds probably hampered the settling of the snow. Ground was totally white, and hard trash and vehicle surfaces had at least 0.5in. We probably had about an inch actually, but hard to tell. Snow started abt 2145, and was still going at 2315 an 0450.Really small flakes, though. Probably blowing off the clouds over the mountains to east of us. Remaining tree leaves dumped on top of snow, too, as they fell all at once (probably 50% of full tree.) |

Snow started yesterday at 0810 thru abt 1030.10" accumulation which melted. Then rain/snow mix, intermittently during day which melted due to increased temps > 32ºF. midday. Snow started sometime after 2000, and had almost quit at 2230, after a surprise 3-4" accumulation. NO wind. So total for storm may have been 4-5" snow, + rain. 0.33 in inner tube this morn. - frozen, + 4" snow in funnel melted = 0.33" (Yes, I forgot to take it out. It has been so warm here, did not think of it.) |
