Over the last hour, cloud cover and apparent snowfall has descended over all of the mountains around us and it is now beginning to spit snow here, including a very light and spotty covering developing on the ground outside my window. Visibility is variable from about a mile to the south & south-east to about 10 miles in some of the mountain areas to the north with other mountain areas to the north being completely blocked from view. |

Numerous light, short showers started about 3:15 PM. Hard rain began at about 9:45 PM and continued past midnight.
-Edit: We live up on a bench overlooking the valley. Aside from lots of puddles around our 10 acres, there is no evidence of flooding, however, upon driving the 6 miles to Panguitch this morning for church, just over 1/2 mile from our home, we had to cross the first of 17 places where there was water flowing over the road. Most were shallow and not swift but one was sift, filled with chunks of ice, and deep enough to cover the running boards on my '93 Chevy 2500 pickup. Most of the pastures were flooded to some extent with being complete lakes. Limekiln creek was overflowing it's banks. The East Panguitch Canal and Sevier River were full, but not overflowing. At that time (9:45 AM) none of the homes appeared to be in danger of flooding. |
