(Note that this measurement includes the snow down in the grass so may be higher than my past measurements which I mistakenly only took snow on top of grass.)

Total snow depth is averaged across my yard which is still 80% snow-covered (11 to 0"). We had received a hail alert that short bursts of pea-sized hail were reported in northern Wisconsin. We received this at 6:13 PM and it looked like graupel (pea-sized white, soft balls of wet snow/slush that were cone-shaped). I took photos and a sample is in my freezer.

2/5/2019 2/07/2019 7:00 AM 3 0.64 9.6 1.79 Some freezing rain occurred in the morning of 2/5 then turned to snow. There was 6.4" snow on the snowboard and in gauge for the three days 2/5 to 2/7. This melted to 1.79". Notes: I cleaned out the gauge and measured new snow that the evening of 2/6; it was not snowing and neighbors said very little snow fell the morning of the 6th. This measured 5" on board and melted to 0.52. Then I measured an additional 1.4" (0.12 melt) of new snow between evening of 2/6 and 2/7 (at 7:00 AM) and added it to the 5" (0.52 melt) to get 6.4" of new snow that melted to 0.64 that I reported as Multi-Day.

Don't want to break my cylinder taking a core to melt due to ice!
