Observation Date Observation Time Precipitation Snowfall Snowfall SWE Snow Depth Snow SWE Notes
10/1/2018 7:00 AM 1.62 0.0 M 0.0 M Sept. 2018 Summary: 5.70” of precip. fell on 12 of 30 days. This morning, steady cold rain falling at obs. time, which started late last night. Today’s forecast indicates showers ceasing later in the morning but returning later in the day, with some of those possibly severe. Welcome to October!
10/2/2018 7:00 AM 0.94 0.0 M 0.0 M Took obs. at 7 this morning; forgot to submit until now... Yesterday was a dreary, wet, gray day. Rain stopped in morning but started again in the evening, with periods of heavy downpours and occasional-but-distant lightning and thunder. Radar indicated a conveyor-belt-like storm front flowing west to east over this area. Today, forecast calls for dry, overcast weather, with sun possible later today. Hoping for the latter because ground is thoroughly saturated right now.
10/3/2018 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 M 0.0 M Persistent mist for several hours after obs. time yesterday. Otherwise, a dry day finally.
10/4/2018 7:00 AM 0.02 0.0 M 0.0 M Soft rainfall ~midnight. Otherwise, yesterday was dry, sunny and warm, with temps reaching the low 80s. After the rain last night, the temps dropped down to the upper 40s. Today's high forecast for mid-50s, which is more seasonal for early October.
10/5/2018 7:00 AM 0.16 0.0 M 0.0 M Rain started at 6:40 this morning -- heavy downpour, at times, and quite chilly. Still raining at obs. time, which means that tomorrow will represent seventh straight day reporting measurable precip.
10/6/2018 7:00 AM 0.79 0.0 M 0.0 M 7th consecutive day with precip. Rain overnight delivered more than expected here. Dry at obs. time, but more rain forecast for today.
10/7/2018 7:00 AM 0.04 0.0 M 0.0 M Rain moved through this morning, and a light mist still falling at obs. time. Damp, dreary, bone-chilling morning thus far.
10/8/2018 7:00 AM 0.10 0.0 M 0.0 M 61 degrees and humid at obs. time, but the rain has stopped (for the moment). Dense Fog Advisory until 10 a.m.
10/9/2018 7:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M Finally, a relatively dry day with sunshine yesterday. High temp here of 79 degrees and slightly humid. Today, possible record-high temp possible before storms tonight move through and colder air takes hold.
10/10/2018 7:00 AM 0.17 0.0 M 0.0 M Thunder signaled sudden heavy rainfall ~4:05 yesterday afternoon, which dropped ~0.10" before becoming sunny again. More rain overnight, but partly cloudy, dry and slightly humid at obs. time. More rain imminent, however, as there has been every day since September 28!
10/11/2018 7:00 AM 0.19 0.0 M 0.0 M Autumn reappeared with attitude overnight. At obs. time, 39 degrees with blustery WSW wind at 17 mph puts the windchill in the mid-20s. Fortunately, several dry days forecast, finally. Otherwise, autumn feels like a bust this year in this area in terms of color.
10/12/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M First 0 entered since 09.29.18. No freeze here overnight despite warning; temp only reached low of 38 degrees. Cold, dry and partly sunny day ahead.
10/13/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Overnight low and temp at obs. time is 32 degrees. Light frost on grass, rooftops and vehicles, but by no means a hard frost. Sunny but chilly day ahead.

10/19/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Overnight low of 44 and overcast skies make it feel relatively mild at obs. time. Rain moving in from the west promises spotty showers today, but the first snowflakes of the season seem unlikely yet.
10/20/2018 7:00 AM 0.05 0.0 M 0.0 M Brief downpour around 9:30 yesterday morning before skies cleared and temps climbed to the mid-50s in the afternoon. Mid-40s and clear skies at obs. time.
10/21/2018 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 M 0.0 M Overnight low of 28 left precip. frozen in bottom of inner collection tube. Yesterday, a few Ts in the morning, but the day was highlighted by a 5-minute period of intense graupel around 1:25 p.m. Short video posted on Twitter @PEZcjr. Despite overnight low, very little frost evident at obs. time.
10/22/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Chill, crisp autumn day yesterday with plenty of sun. Slightly warmer forecast today, but should still prove another nice fall day. No precip. forecast until possibly at week’s end.

10/27/2018 7:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M About 7 drops in the inner tube this morning under overcast skies and a temp of 42 degrees. This morning marks ~48 hours with virtually no wind at all. The (few) leaves that fall drop straight to the ground.
10/28/2018 7:00 AM 0.12 0.0 M 0.0 M Chilly, damp, gray morning at obs. time, but finally received some needed precip., with more arriving later this morning as system swirls anti-clockwise over this area. In past 24 hours, a ton of leaves fell from the maples running through the backyard. Very unspectacular autumn this year, in this area.
10/29/2018 7:00 AM 0.03 0.0 M 0.0 M Dark, damp, dreary morning with sunrise not until 7:23 a.m., necessitating a flashlight for this morning’s reading. The day should improve, with partly sunny skies and temps in the low 50s. Rainy day forecast for tomorrow.

11/4/2018 7:00 AM 0.16 0.0 M 0.0 M Damp, gray day at obs. time but dry and somewhat mild here for the moment. Rain during the wee hours this morning on strong south to southeast winds, which continue to gust and bring down whatever leaves remained on the maples in the backyard.
11/5/2018 7:00 AM 0.68 0.0 M 0.0 M Yesterday was a quintessential November day: rainy, windy, cold and raw. Strong S to SE winds gusting to 25 mph at time drove fairly steady rain horizontally at times. At obs. time, the winds have dropped and it’s not raining but it still feels bone-chilling. More rain due later this evening.
11/6/2018 7:00 AM 0.56 0.0 M 0.0 M Chill, steady rain falling at obs. time, with rain forecast for most of the morning.
11/7/2018 7:00 AM 0.13 0.0 M 0.0 M Temp finally dipped below freezing early this morning, but no frost on the ground or rooftops here. First snow forecast for area, with ~1-2 inches possible by Friday morning. Winter’s knocking early on the door this year.
11/8/2018 7:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M First snow of 2018 will likely prove measurable, with forecasters now hedging their bets and saying 1-2” is likely but could be much higher... Given temps will remain unseasonably cold for next several days, this snow could stick around for a bit, too. Removed funnel and inner gauge for now (and probably until spring).
11/9/2018 7:00 AM 0.14 1.9 M 1.9 M Steady, light snow started early this morning and continues at obs. time. Roads and sidewalks are quite “clean” yet, with the snow melting once it lands. Trees are beautiful. Edge of snowline is around Madison right now so this should wrap up by 9-10 this morning.
11/10/2018 7:00 AM 0.03 0.4 M M M Snow ended around 9:40 yesterday morning, at which time I measured the new-snow depth. Good thing, too, because strong W to NW winds developed that blew the light powdery snow all over the place. Clear, cloudless skies this morning allowed temp to plummet to 19 degrees, but at least the sun now shines, creating the illusion of warmth and cheering the soul when you’re outside.
11/11/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Very windy yesterday morning and, even with the sunshine, it was bitterly cold. By noon, however, the winds diminished and the afternoon proved quite pleasant. Some melting of snow cover in highly sun-exposed areas, but most rooftops and lawns remain covered with white stuff.
11/12/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Sunny and above-32 temps yesterday melted most of the snow in exposed areas. Two more days of cold temps forecast before things warm up again on Wednesday, but no snow/precip in the picture until possibly week’s end.
11/13/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Cold, cloudy and dry yesterday. Today, cold, sunny and dry expected. Rain changing to snow possible Friday night into Saturday a.m.

11/15/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Cold but sunny yesterday, with more of the same forecast for today. Possible rain/snow late tonight and again late tomorrow night.
11/16/2018 7:00 AM 0.05 0.8 M M M Snow fell between ~2:00 and ~4:30 this morning. Fairly slushy snow. More snow due overnight, but forecasters are having difficulty making estimates of potential snowfall; anywhere from dusting to 3 inches, depending upon source.
11/17/2018 7:00 AM 0.05 0.5 M M M Less snow than predicted, thankfully but still snowing lightly at obs. time, which is when measurements were made. Snow looks like it will end ~9:00 this morning.
11/18/2018 7:00 AM T 0.1 M T M Snow wound down after obs. time yesterday and was finished by 8:00 a.m., when the sun actually popped out for a bit. During the day, it was dry, cold and mostly cloudy but the temp did rise a bit above freezing and that, with a bit of sun, melted a great deal of the snow cover.
11/19/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Flurries/light snow forecast for later this p.m.
11/20/2018 7:00 AM T T M T M A dusting of snow in the wee hours this morning, which will likely vanish by late morning given the sunny skies.

11/22/2018 7:00 AM T T M T M About 5 flakes late yesterday p.m. Had I not been outside, I would never had known. Happy Thanksgiving!
11/23/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Noting a “trace” for existing snow depth is being generous but still, technically, correct. Given forecasted temps near 50 for next two days, the bits remaining won’t last long today. At obs. time, sunny skies and temp of 34 indicate a pleasant, welcome relief to nasty November weather of late.
11/24/2018 7:00 AM 0.18 0.0 M 0.0 M All traces of snow vanished late yesterday morning with temps in the 40s and sun. Rain started at 8:45 p.m. and continued all night; still drizzling at obs. time this morning. Winter Storm Watch issued already for tomorrow, but forecast remains uncertain — anywhere from rain, an inch of snow, to an early “snowmegeddon.”
11/25/2018 7:00 AM T 0.0 M 0.0 M Misty most of yesterday. At obs. time, gray, overcast, calm and 35 degrees. Winter Storm Warning takes effect at 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 tomorrow morning. Looks like this area will get nailed, with somewhere around 5-6+ inches of snow, gusty winds and near whiteout conditions — if the forecast holds true.
11/26/2018 7:00 AM 0.03 0.2 M 0.2 M Dodged the snow-bullet last night. Radar indicated edge of snowstorm moving very slowly north all afternoon until, around 8:00 p.m., edge reached this area and a few icy flakes started to fall ~8:20. Despite this, the edge of the storm never lifted farther north of here, nor did any heavier bands of snow develop from Lake Michigan enhancement. Very gusty winds, however, which continue at obs. time. Sidewalks and driveways are generally snow free, especially those running E-W.
11/27/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Little-to-no melting yesterday given cloudy skies and temps in the mid 20s. Partly cloudy and cold at obs. time; perhaps some snow will melt today to make way for possible snow tomorrow night. Crazy November this year.
11/28/2018 7:00 AM T T M M M Very cold at obs. time, with a temp of 18 degrees under sunny, clear skies. Flurries yesterday morning and again late p.m. More snow possible tonight, ranging from a dusting to <1 inch possible.
11/29/2018 7:00 AM 0.06 0.7 M M M At 28 degrees, it’s 10 degrees warmer at obs. time than the same time yesterday. A thin coating of snow overnight (grass in lawns still visible, as are the many fallen leaves not raked up in the neighborhood). This snow is “dry” and annoying to shovel ‘cuz you need to go over the same area several times as the snow flows around the shovel edges.
11/30/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M 30 degrees at obs. time under gray skies and dead-calm conditions. Rain forecast for much of weekend.

12/2/2018 7:00 AM 0.90 0.0 M 0.0 M Steady rain of varying intensities (from mist to downpours) since late-morning yesterday has eliminated the last traces of snow. 12/3/2018 7:00 AM 0.26 0.5 M 0.5 M Rain started yesterday late-morning and transitioned to snow ~2:15 p.m. Steady but light flakes until ~6:30 p.m. but snow melted on contact with roads, sidewalks and drivesways for the most part. This morning, snow is quite crunchy and icy.
12/4/2018 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M 28 degrees, overcast and calm at obs. time. Little to no snow melt yesterday given cloudy skies and cold temps. Possible sun later this p.m. but no precip. anticipated for next seven days.

12/25/2018 7:00 AM 0.02 0.5 M 0.5 M It’s a white Christmas afterall, thanks to a quick-moving front early this morning that dropped very light, dry snow.
12/26/2018 7:00 AM T T M T M Sporadic flurries (random flakes, really) on Christmas morning after obs. time but the T noted under Total Snow is all that remains from the Christmas Eve snow given yesterday’s above-freezing temps. Rain forecast for late tonight and all day tomorrow.
12/27/2018 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 M 0.0 M Heavy rain-system off to west brushed this area before obs. time, but at 7:00 a.m., it was dry, overcast and 38 degrees, with a strong easterly wind. More rain likely throughout today and tonight, possibly turning to snow at some point later tomorrow.
12/28/2018 7:00 AM 0.29 0.0 M 0.0 M Persistent rain throughout the day yesterday. At midnight, 48 degrees; at 5:30 this morning, 44; at obs. time, 40 degrees. Rain, mix and snow expected today and overnight as temps continue to drop.
12/29/2018 7:00 AM 0.10 0.8 M 0.8 M First icy little flakes fell sporadically ~11:45 yesterday morning but melted on contact with roads, sidewalks and car windows because temp hovered around 33-34. By ~3:45, however, the snow arrived and surfaces had cooled enough for it to stick. At obs. time, 23 degrees under mostly cloudy, calm skies. Snow is crusty and icy at the bottom, making it very difficult to fully clear from driveway, sidewalks and car windows.
12/30/2018 7:00 AM T T M M M Nuisance flurries off-n-on throughout the day yesterday. At obs. time, clear and cold with a forecast high of 35 degrees.

1/1/2019 7:00 AM 0.58 1.2 M M M December 2018 Summary: 1.73” precip.; 2.00” snow; 6.60” snow for season. Yesterday, rain started ~11:00 a.m. and fell for much of the day, with varying intensities. Around 4:30 p.m., the rain changed to large, wet snowflakes.
1/2/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M It’s snowing to the north and west, and might still here this morning, but nothing has fallen here as of obs. time. The NYE snow remains, highly crusted, icy and slippery. A warm-up will begin on Friday, with temps hitting the 40s during the weekend.
1/3/2019 7:00 AM 0.02 0.2 M M M Despite forecast, steady flurries hung around all morning yesterday and deposited more snow than anticipated. At obs. time, clear skies with a slight breeze signal a welcome warm-up that will hopefully melt off the icy deposits on sidewalks and driveways remaining from the NYE snowfall.

1/9/2019 7:00 AM T T M 0.0 M For roughly 120 seconds yesterday ~9:15 a.m., a mix of icy rain and a few flakes fell, propelled at a steep angle by strong west winds. Soon, however, the sun arrived and temps warmed to a high of 42 degrees by ~noon, although the gusty winds of 20+ mph made it feel less balmy. By 3:00, the temp started to slowly fall and at obs. time this morning, the temp is 17 degrees, the wind is ~20 mph with gusts of 30+ mph, and skies appear mottled, with lighter/darker patches of gray.
1/10/2019 7:00 AM T T M 0.0 M Another brief moment of tiny flurries yesterday around 10:30 a.m. If you didn’t happen to look out of a window, you’d never have seen them. 1/17/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Dry and sunny yesterday, continuing the recent stretch of atypical January weather. The forecast calls for this to crash to a halt Friday-into-Saturday, with a potential of 3-4” of snow followed by very cold temps.
1/18/2019 7:00 AM T T M T M A smattering of very dry flakes in the bottom of the 4-inch gauge this morning signals some light flurries moved through overnight at some point. Also see flakes along the corners of my roof and the edges of north-facing gutters. Snowfall due this p.m. through tomorrow morning, with ~3-5” expected, followed by bitter cold for a few days. Winter returneth with an attitude :-)

1/20/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M Flurries hung around after obs. time yesterday throughout the morning, depositing a dusting at most. The temp hovered around 19 degrees throughout the day, but at obs. time this morning, it’s a balmy 4 under clear skies.
1/21/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Low was 1 degree since midnight; 3 degrees at obs. time under clear calm skies. More snow (2-5”) forecast for tomorrow.
1/22/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M A few spurts of flurries yesterday late-morning and in the afternoon but, generally, the day was dry, sunny and cold, with a high of 20 degrees. Impending snowstorm bearing down on this area has the weather people uncertain (again), with forecasts of 3-8+ inches of heavy wet snow, possibly freezing rain, etc.
1/23/2019 7:00 AM 0.43 3.8 M M M This storm attempting to make up for December’s relatively low snowfall apparently. Snowing steadily again at obs. time after a slight lull earlier. Forecast calls for snow to continue to ~noon today. Snow here has fortunately been lighter/fluffier than expected, perhaps because temps have been in the teens overnight.
1/24/2019 7:00 AM 0.06 1.0 M M M Rcd. an additional inch of snow between obs. time and ~11:30 yesterday morning. Soon after, the clouds parted and the afternoon proved sunny but cold under blue skies. Total of 4.8” of snow here for this storm-event. Nasty deep-freeze starts tomorrow.
1/25/2019 7:00 AM 0.02 0.2 M M M Flurries off-n-on throughout the day yesterday but, late afternoon, turned into a brief but fairly intense snowfall with big, fat flakes. Later in the evening, however, the winds whipped up and blew many areas “clean.” At obs. time, a bone-chilling 4-below zero air temp under calm, partly cloudy skies.

1/27/2019 7:00 AM 0.02 0.3 M M M Light snow moved in late yesterday afternoon during a very cold day that only reached 9 degrees for the high temp. At obs. time, it’s 1-degree below zero under clear skies. Snowmegeddon forecast late this evening and overnight, with anywhere from 6-10” of snow due.
1/28/2019 7:00 AM 0.34 5.0 M M M Strong east wind and light, fairly dry snow made measurement a serious challenge this morning, but several measurements in fairly reliable spots yielded an average of 5.0” of new snow. Gauge catch-precip. clearly affected by strong gusty winds. At obs. time, 21 degrees, slight breeze and temporary break in the snowfall. Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. today.
1/29/2019 7:00 AM 0.07 1.9 M M M Yesterday, the snow felt never-ending here. After obs. time, flurries/snow continued throughout the morning, adding ~1.00” to the storm total. Another lull during the early afternoon seemed to signal the end was in sight, until the storm’s “tail” whipped around and delivered a fireworks-like finale of heavy, fat flakes that finally ended ~5:45 p.m. At that point, the wind picked up as the temp dropped. Oh, and then we experienced another quick round of flurries early this morning ~6:00, too. At obs. time, sunny skies, 1 degree above zero, and windy.
1/30/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M At obs. time, air temp of 22 degrees BELOW zero and very windy. Yesterday, lots of blowing snow but no new precip. fell.
1/31/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Compared to yesterday’s obs. time, it feels almost balmy even though it’s only one degree warmer right now at 21 degrees below zero. The wind has dropped significantly, and even though a Wind Chill Warning remains in place until noon today, temps should steadily rise throughout the day. Possible snow late this evening.
2/1/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M January 2019 Station Summary: 2.72" precip. from rain & snow; 17.10" snow; record low station temp of -22° January 30. Dusting of snow during the wee hours. Otherwise, 3 degrees on the plus side at obs. time, with a welcome warm-up to potential 40s into Monday. Rain possible, too, this weekend.
2/2/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M At obs. time, 23 degrees, overcast and slightly breezy. Temp should reach upper 30s today and, hopefully, begin melting the snowy-icy mess on sidewalks, driveways and roads.
2/3/2019 7:00 AM T 0.0 M M M Very “moist” outside at obs. time, given a temp of 39 degrees and light breeze. Surprising amount of snow-melt in 24 hours, although an estimated 5-6” remains. I expected more precip. in the gauge than the few drops discovered given the rainy forecast, but that will likely occur later today and/or tomorrow.
2/4/2019 7:00 AM T 0.0 M M M A very foggy evening and overnight as low 40s continued to hammer the snowpack. Most rooftops in the neighborhood are mostly clear, and areas of grass have reappeared on many lawns. Still no measurable rainfall here, which is probably a good thing to minimize flooding.
2/5/2019 7:00 AM 0.03 0.0 M M M A period of semi-steady rain after obs. time yesterday that cleared out by roughly 10:00 a.m. This morning, overcast and dry with temps down in the low 20s as winter reasserts itself. Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 6:00 tonight until 6:00 tomorrow morning, with snow and ice possible.
2/6/2019 7:00 AM 0.44 M M M M Precip. began as graupel ~6:30 yesterday evening and battered house windows off-n-on for the next hour or so. The precip. also fell as icy rain. At obs. time, the 4-inch gauge is coated with ice inside and out; rooftops and bare grassy areas wear a frozen white/translucent icy blanket; and sidewalks and driveways have a thin, bumpy coat of ice that seems impervious to shoveling right now.
2/7/2019 7:00 AM 0.25 0.0 M M M This was the second night that dropped an icy-mix on this area but unlike yesterday’s, which was “bumpy” because of the initial graupel, this morning’s coating of ice is smooth and more dangerous. Removing the 4-inch gauge was a chore, requiring gentle but firm persuasion due to the ice coating. The trees all bear a coating of ice weighing the branches down; if the wind picks up, many breaks will likely occur.
2/8/2019 7:00 AM 0.31 T M M M A 0.25-inch-thick disc of ice in the bottom of the 4-inch gauge this morning, as well as swirling traces of dry snow throughout the neighborhood. 25 mph winds began late yesterday evening with >35 mph gusts. At obs. time, mostly cloudy, very windy, temp of 8 degrees, and sub-zero windchill.
2/9/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M At obs. time, 3 degrees, sunny and calm.
2/10/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Yesterday was dry, cold but somewhat sunny at times, so a fairly nice day overall. The snow remains iced-over and very slippery, unfortunately. Today, ~1” of light snow forecast here for the p.m. Monday night into Tuesday, a possible 3-6” more forecast, as well as potential icy mix, which we definitely don’t need.
2/11/2019 7:00 AM 0.06 0.6 M M M Snow from ~2:25 to ~4:00 yesterday afternoon left a light coating on the existing snow-ice. Winter Weather Advisory takes effect at 9:00 tonight through Wednesday at 12:00 a.m. for a potential 3-6 inches of the white stuff.
2/12/2019 7:00 AM 0.59 7.1 M M M Snowing steadily at obs. time but at a much lesser rate than 5:30 and earlier this morning. Snow started last night around 8:30, which was roughly when NWS upgraded Winter Weather Advisory to a Winter Storm Warning, which also upped estimated snowfall. Per radar, snow might cease here ~10 a.m. for a while, but spotty snow forecast for entire day.
2/13/2019 7:00 AM 0.20 2.3 M M M Seemingly endless snowstorm yesterday. After obs. time, snow tapered off as winds shifted from east to west, with a period of hazy sunshine that actually boosted temp here to 36 degrees by ~2:00 p.m. But then the snow returned, now from the west, with strong gusty winds. Total of 9.4" of snow at this station since this storm began on Monday. [10:27 a.m. EDIT: Storm began here on Monday, not Sunday, as originally submitted.]

2/15/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Wonderful sunny day yesterday, with a high temp of 45 degrees that helped melt some of the snow. At 9:00 p.m., the temp remained above freezing at 35 degrees. At obs. time this morning, however, the temp is 7 degrees and the windchill is well below zero.

2/20/2019 7:00 AM 0.04 0.5 M M M Quick-hit snowfall between 4-6:30 this morning left 0.50" of light, powdery snow. At obs. time, this area is in "dry slot" and the sun is actually shining in a partly cloudy sky! Snow will likely return this morning, with possible freezing rain later today.
2/21/2019 7:00 AM 0.07 0.2 M M M Very varied weather yesterday. After dry period in morning, snow returned off and on before transitioning to freezing drizzle and then just drizzle as temp reached 33 degrees. Around 2:00 p.m., temp dropped and big wet flakes started falling for a bit, but the precip. ended around 3:00 p.m. New Snow Total is based on snowfall before rain started yesterday, but admittedly difficult to assess correctly this time.
2/22/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M A dry, sunny and cold day yesterday with a high of 30 degrees. This tiresome weather pattern continues: a dry day or two and then snow/wintery mix and then repeat. Wish I could get my hands on that lying @$%€! groundhog :-)
2/23/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Snow and wintery mix off to the west is supposed to impact this area this morning, but nothing yet. 33 degrees at obs. time, overcast, with light breeze from E/NE.
2/24/2019 7:00 AM 0.66 0.0 M M M All precip. fell as rain yesterday/overnight with temps in the mid-30s. At 5:00 a.m., the temp was 36 degrees; by obs. time, it had dropped to 32. Snow to west will move in soon. High Wind Warning in effect until 9:00 p.m., with winds of 25+ mph gusting to 40+ mph.
2/25/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M Dry much of the morning until tail-end of front passed through and dropped icy flakes for a while. This signaled arrival of high winds, however, which scoured everything clear due to west winds that gusted up to 49 mph here all night. At obs. time, 3 degrees, sunny and winds have subsided to ~20 mph.
2/26/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M ~24 flakes in the bottom of the 4-inch gauge after flurries passed through early this morning. Cold, gray and quite still at obs. time, but snow due later today and overnight as this unending weather conveyor belt continues to drop snow here every 2-3 days.
2/27/2019 7:00 AM 0.07 0.8 M M M Probably got lucky with storm: 2-4 inches of snow forecast, but snowfall seemed to skirt this area most of the night. Light snow has slight icy crust from a bit of drizzle ~3:00 this morning. Dry and overcast at obs. time. Another round of snow likely Friday p.m.
2/28/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M Moments of flurries after obs. time yesterday that ended ~9:00 a.m. Otherwise, a dry, cold day.
3/1/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M February 2019 Station Summary: 3.07” precip.; 16.30” snowfall.
3/2/2019 7:00 AM 0.06 1.7 M M M Crazy-fluffy snow that exceeded forecast of "less than an inch." Very light and easy to shovel. Sun shining in mostly clear blue sky at obs. time with temp of 24 degrees.
3/3/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M A few flakes after obs. time yesterday but otherwise it ended up being a very pleasant, sunny day albeit cold.
3/4/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M -5 degrees at obs. time, with a Wind Chill Advisory in force until 10:00 a.m. At least the sun is shining.
3/5/2019 7:00 AM 0.01 0.1 M M M A surprising dusting of snow overnight despite single-digit temps. Very light and dry snow. At obs. time, 5 degrees, sunny and breezy.
3/6/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Quiet, sunny and cold yesterday. Flurries possible today but, otherwise, a similar day ahead.
3/7/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M
3/8/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Cold ‘n gray but dry yesterday. High temp forecast to finally rise above freezing today for first time in what feels like forever. Rainy Saturday predicted, as well.
3/9/2019 7:00 AM T T M M M A handful of tiny flakes yesterday ~7:30 a.m., but otherwise a dry day with periods of sunshine and a high of 40 degrees. Rain/mix/snow forecast for later this afternoon and overnight, but above-freezing temps predicted for much of the week.
3/10/2019 7:00 AM 0.56 0.4 M M M Received the full gamut of precip. in last 24 hours, including rain, snow, sleet and icy rain. 33 degrees at obs. time (and since midnight) which has kept the gauge catch in a quasi ice-liquid state. Sidewalks, driveways and other surfaces covered with a layer of bumpy snow-ice that will hopefully melt with today's forecast high of 36 degrees.

3/12/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M M M Sunny with high of 35 yesterday. Today begins the same way on route to high of 46, but rain expected in late p.m.
3/13/2019 7:00 AM 0.11 0.0 M M M Rain during overnight after day of temps in the mid-40s, which melted a great deal of snow cover. Dry and overcast at obs. time with a temp of 38 degrees. Rainy and mid-50s forecast for today.
3/14/2019 7:00 AM 0.09 0.0 M M M Yesterday, high of 46 and overcast, but very little rain here. Plenty of melting snow, however, and high expected to reach low 60s today.
3/15/2019 7:00 AM 0.06 T M T M Light flurries started shortly before obs. time, but ground is too warm at the moment so everything is melting.
3/16/2019 7:00 AM T T M T M Dusting of snow overnight. Dry and sunny at obs. time, however.
3/17/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Sunny, chilly day yesterday.

3/20/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M T M Bits of snow linger in low, shady areas and shovel-piles, but this period of sunny, dry weather with temps in the high 40s will take care of this by Sunday, I suspect. Rain possible late this p.m.
3/21/2019 7:00 AM 0.07 0.0 M T M Gray, damp and slightly breezy at obs. time but despite temp of 36, it feels somewhat springlike (which, technically, it is as of yesterday evening). Light rain during the wee hours this morning, but should prove dry and sunny today with a high around 50 degrees.

3/25/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Area rain never reached here yesterday as temperature rose to low 50s in the afternoon. Temp dropped 20 degrees by early evening, however, as winds picked up in advance of cold front. At obs. time, clear skies but quite windy and cold.

4/3/2019 7:00 AM 0.01 0.0 M 0.0 M Disappointingly low amount of precip. yesterday; the heavier stuff moved not-far north of here based on radar. It’s fairly dry here; lawns and trees could use a good drink.

4/9/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M High of 70 degrees yesterday highlighted a perfect early spring day. Snow and rain moving in tomorrow/Thursday, however, which is why Wisconsinites don’t put their shovels away until mid-May...
4/10/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 0.0 M 0.0 M Pleasant but cooler day yesterday. Temps dropped overnight back to the 30s ahead of a front bringing rain, icy mix and snow. Forecast is a bit fluid; time will tell what form, and how much, precip. actually falls here in next 24 hours.
4/11/2019 7:00 AM 0.40 2.8 M 2.8 M Sporadic flurries started at 8:55 yesterday. From 9:10-9:20 a.m., heavier flurries due to lake enhancement fell. Nothing sticking at this time. At 2:45 p.m., steady snow flurries began with a temp of 36 degrees; by 3:15 p.m., the temp was 35 and snow started sticking to grass and rooftops. Very heavy, wet flakes fell from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and deposited the bulk of the snow. Snow tapered off from 5:00-5:30 p.m. and was finished by 6:00 p.m., which is when depth was measured. Around 12:30 this morning, a quick round of icy mix passed through. At obs. time, 32 degrees and we’re under Wind Advisory until 1:00 p.m.

This transitioned to snow and ~4:15 p.m., big fat wet flakes began falling from the east and accumulating on grassy areas. By 7:15 p.m., snow ended, which is when snow depth was measured.

7/3/2019 7:00 AM 0.06 M M M M Strong thunderstorm to the north late yesterday afternoon created lots of rumbling thunder, but this station was just south of the storm's edge and received very little precip. 7/18/2019 7:00 AM 0.63 M M M M Heavy rain at obs. time with distant thunder but heaviest part of storm is now east of this station. Yesterday, a pop-up storm dropped 0.29” between 11:55 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. and the temp dropped during that period from 87 to 78 degrees. The heat/humidity returned yesterday p.m. This morning, first drops fell at 6:00; heavy rain within ~15 minutes deposited balance of 0.63” of much-needed precip. Rain should continue until noon-ish today, which is when Heat Advisory starts.
7/19/2019 7:00 AM 0.98 M M M M Steady, soaking rain fell yesterday from obs. time until ~11:30 a.m. Heat Advisory was shifted to Friday because cloud cover helped temps stay lower. More storms moved through this morning, with thunder and lightning, and added to yesterday morning’s precip., which was ~0.80” when the rain ended. Today, Excessive Heat Warning in effect from 10 a.m. until 7:00 tomorrow morning.
7/20/2019 7:00 AM 0.79 M M M M Large storm cell passed through this morning at 1:35 a.m. from NW. Plenty of thunder/lightning initially, as well as very heavy downpour. Yesterday, the temp reached 92 degrees here with a dewpoint in the late p.m. of 85+ degrees — absolutely tropical and unpleasant. Excessive Heat Warning was extended until 8:00 tonight because hot/humid conditions persist, as well as threat of T-storms in p.m.
7/21/2019 7:00 AM 0.33 M M M M Rain yesterday afternoon and again overnight heralded welcome onset of lower temps and dewpoint (relatively speaking).

8/1/2019 7:00 AM 0.00 M M M M July 2019 Station Summary: 3.40” precip. on 11 of 31 days.
