4/16 mild, mid 60's before significant T-Storm developed to the west and sat on the ridge for more than an hour before moving west. 4-4:30 strong rain and continuous hail left about 1 1/2 inch of hail on the ground, still a few piles of hail. Ground looks pummeled, quite a bit of runoff down our driveway. Another rain shower 5:45-6:15PM. One gauge showed 1.45 and the other 1.83 so split the difference. No weather radio warning. Mostly cloudy, temp not showing this AM, mild, suppose to be windy today. No real damage except to daffodil flowers and tree buds pummeled. Most prolonged hail storm we have seen. Did make a report. Based on current reports we were in the target zone compared to rest of state. Can't believe we were the only spot reporting getting dumped on. Amounts were correct. |

Sorry about very late report but was a very late night Storm arrived just before midnight, and hail-half dollar size- from midnight to 12:15AM. It did stop. Leaf damage, and cucumbers don't look good at all. Some damage to gauge funnels, one is only about 2/3 there. Minor damage to siding, etc. Were in Scottsbluff when they got hit about 3:45PM Thursday, dents to car, but no broken windows. Did make a hail report in the middle of the night. Found out neighbor one mile west lost 7 windows north side, severe damage to vinyl siding, car damage. His reported hail larger than golf ball size. |
