Accommodations, Dining and Parking
Lodging
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Fort Collins Hilton thru May 11th near Colorado State University (you will still need transportation to the ATMOS Campus which is 6 miles NW) for $149 + tax and it looks like there may be a limted number of gov't rate rooms $117 on their website which are not part of the block.
There are also some good deals on-line, so book early. Other hotels near the university include: The Armstrong, The Elizabeth Hotel and Best Western Univ., as well as the normal selection of national hotels located throughout the city (Marriott, Holiday Inn Express, etc.)
Dining
Since we are not meeting at the YMCA this year, folks will be on their own for meals. We will provide lunch at the WERA meeting on both Monday and Tuesday. There are many local restaurants in Old Town Fort Collins and numerous familar chains througout the city. There are also some breweries (Stodgy, Odell, New Belgium, etc.) with food truck service. On Tuesday nights City Park in Fort Collins is awash in food trucks. Also there may be a meet-up with the AASC folks on Tuesday evening at the Fort Collins Hilton (TBD).
Parking at CSU
Starting in 2020, the university started to charge for parking by the hour ($1.50 hour - 7:30AM-4PM) at the ATMOS Campus. To find out more about hourly rates and obtaiing a virtual permit (once you have your rental plate number) please click here: PARKING
We hope to have a small van that will shuttle folks to the meeting before and afterwards from the Hilton. Space will be limited.
Ground Transportation
Airport Shuttle
Shuttle transportation from Denver International Airport (DIA) is available via several options.
Landline Shuttle - you would want to choose the CSU Transportation Center on their menu which is about a ten minute walk to the Hilton or downtown.
Groome Transportation - this shuttle also goes to the CSU Transportation Center.
Rental Cars
Rental Cars are available at Denver International Airport. Distance from DIA to Fort Collins is approximately 80 miles. A driving time of two hours should be anticipated (If there is hail all bets are off). There are tolls on E-470 if you take the shortest way from the airport. Consider a transponder.
Other
Special Needs
It is our sincere desire to comply fully with both the letter and the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). Attendees with special needs should call the Colorado Climate Center at (970) 491-1196, four to six weeks prior to the meeting to request special arrangements.
